To Governor Abbot, The People of Texas, and Liberty Minded people across the US,
The recent statement released by the State of Texas and Governor Abbot regarding minors and their freedom of expression and self-actualization, is a written affront to the profession of primary care providers and healthcare at large, and finally a theft of parental responsibility if not a leeway to destroying families. It is a smack in the face to anyone that claims to support Liberty. This is the government doing what it always does, taking decisions away from the market and experts and letting themselves and their Bureaucrats control the world down to how our children are raised. No government should regulate or control a person, identity, or medical care decisions of individuals. This type of overreach is the exact thing Libertarians, in particular, stand steadfastly against; one would be hard-pressed to find a more fitting example of government intruding upon our lives. This is not just a GSM issue; this is either gloating or a warning if not both, that agents of the omnipotent State will stop at nothing to interject with your life. Even more egregious is the fact that they threaten to prosecute and imprison parents and doctors alike for guiding young minds through a notably tumultuous psychological comeuppance, thus furthering the suffering.
It is in the interest of every Liberty-lover everywhere, if not an assumed responsibility, to take a stand against authoritarian measures such as these, regardless of personal outlooks of the transgender and gender non-conforming community. This type of statement and enforcement thereof is the proverbial "foot-in-the-door" tactic, and anyone that shares a disdain for overreach and authoritarianism should pick up on that scent, We call upon all state workers and citizens of Texas to peacefully and vocally disobey these orders. From healthcare workers maintaining confidentiality to communities protecting these families of transgender, non-binary and questioning children. We call upon the complete disobedience of compliance with this disgusting measure and will stand steadfastly with these individuals and their families.
